Two 3500 LB axles for 7000 LB GTWR, 4x 1750 leaf springs, Dexter EZ Flex center equalizer with HD shackles
I just removed this tandem axle set to upgrade to D52 axles on our travel trailer which is pushing over 7000 LB GTW.
Everything is in good working order, not a single issue when running this gear, last trip and every trip in our 2-year ownership. The last picture shows the tandem axles installed on our Oliver Travel Trailer jacked up for removal just a couple weeks ago.
Excellent running condition, only Arizona dirt on these. Clean up the shackles and wet bolts and bolt it all together!
This would be a wonderful used set for anybody making a homemade trailer to tow dirt bikes, an ATV ATVs, or side-by-side SXS.
Wheel centers are 35". This is a special order axles set with 6 x 5 1/2" wheel bolt pattern vs. the 3500 LB standard 5 x 4 1/2" pattern. The label picture shows the axle specs. The axles are 50" wide, hanger to hanger, which is a good width for a 7-ft wide trailer.
New Timken Bearings were installed Sept 2023 to replace the OEM China made bearings. Note the before-and-after picture showing the maintenance worked just two years ago. You could repack the bearings prior to installation, but I doubt you would need to.
If you were to buy all of this hardware new. The axles would be 2x $800, leaf springs 4x $150, EZ Flex with HD shackles and wet bolts, brass bushings over $400, $200 for made in Japan Timken bearings/races. If you were to purchase the same set new, with tax and shipping, you would need to invest near $3000.
This is a great deal for you home-build ATV or other 7K GVWR trailer! You can measure my trailer to know where to weld the hangers on your trailer. U-bolt tie plates are not included ($30 in parts).
