Here is the perfect neck for someone that wants a Stratocaster with the traditional Gibson Scale of 24 3/4 inches rather than the normal 25 1/2 inch Fender Scale.
This is a 1986 Squier MIJ Neck that came stock on a contemporary model Squier that had a scale of 24 3/4 inches. The 3/4 inch difference in scale on this model was achieved by a slightly smaller neck, you can put this neck on a regular sized stratocaster body, adjust the bridge saddles for the intonation difference and now you have a Gibson Scale length Stratocaster. The model this neck comes from is the ST-336 if you'd like to read more about it.
What I am selling is the fully loaded neck and it includes everything you see. The Fender stamped tuning machines, neckplate with micro tilt feature and 1 string tree ( it is missing the other string tree)- nothing else is included.
This is an E serial numbered Squier, made during an excellent time in Fender Japan History. These Squier labeled necks are the same quality of Fender labeled necks of the same period, they were made right along side each other not in different factories like today. Condition wise it is good considering it is 40 years of age. It sights straight, with a good working truss rod. The frets have only the slightest amount of wear. The headstock is painted black and has some scratches, a few small area of chipped finish loss. The back of the neck is glossy and comfortable. There are small dings/dents in the rear of the neck but nothing drastic. The rosewood fretboard has a great grain to it. There is a dent at the very end of the fretboard which appears to have cracked the gloss finish on the edge of the neck.
Overall a neat neck, 24 3/4 conversion necks aren't the easiest to find and this one is ready for your partscaster build.
