2003 Fender Custom Shop Reggie Hamilton Jazz Bass with original case and COA. This is a rather rare Custom Shop Bass, I believe the original run was made up until 2014 with this being a very early one. The wear on this bass is authentic wear, this is not relic wear done by the Custom Shop. This was a main bass for years and gigged heavily by the previous owner, resulting in some great looking authentic wear and checking. The bass itself remains completely original, nothing has been swapped out on it. These were made to Reggie Hamiltons personal specs which includes an active/passive circuit, D Tuner, Split coil P bass neck pickup and Noise Jazz Bass Pickup. Other features include a blocked fretboard, string thru body bridge and sculpted neck heel. A cool mix of retro and modern features. These are nitro finished and its aging gracefully like a nitro finished instrument will. The body has lots of checking, mostly on the back but also on the front. There are areas of finish loss, chips, dings etc. The main area of such finish wear is where your forearm would rest. The neck has various dings and areas of finish loss around the headstock (pictured) but the back of the neck has remained clean. I cleaned the bass up before posting, using music nomad polish (nitro safe) and oiling the fretboard- at which time I took photos of the frets unobstructed by strings. The frets are in good shape, with only some very minor wear to the first few. Although this didn't start life as a relic its beginning to look as if it was a factory relic, however if you check the Certificate of Authenticity it is not stated to be a relic. As stated the previous owner gigged for a living and used this bass significantly. The only modification he did was install Schaller strap locks, a strap with the matching buttons will be included in the case pocket. The controls are the first knob is volume ( in active or passive mode), the second knob is a pan pot( in active or passive mode) allowing pickup selection, P , PJ or J, the next knob does nothing in passive mode but is a stacked treble/bass knob in active mode. The last knob is again a stacked knob, the upper being mids and the lower a boost/cut- In passive mode the lower knob is the tone control. The button acts as the way to switch from passive to active, up is active and down is passive.
Weight is posted in the last photo.
Original Hardshell G&G case included, pretty good shape. Also included the original COA, strap with Schaller ends, Fender truss rod tool and Fender polishing cloth.
