Hey woodworkers, looking to expand your horizons? What we have here is a 70+ year old live edge slab of Alligator Juniper. (no splits or cracks) It measures 4” thick, 27 ½” at widest part x 96”. I established the age by trying to count the growth rings but they are so close together that this is an estimate. This has been stored in my garage for the past 7 years and the guy I bought it from had it stored in a barn.
My original goal was to make a 44” (+, -) wide by 84” (+, -) long and about 3” thick instead of the typical 1 ½” river table. As you can see in the photos, I actually stared the milling process.
I no longer have the desire or money to complete this project. So, my loss is your gain. It is very heavy.
