When I first used an elevated cook table at camp for cooking and prep work, I decided it’s way better than kneeling over a campfire. Notice the pic on the book cover of the guy crouched over the fire! If you haven't cooked with cast iron, it’s easy. Included with the Camp Chef is a brand new cast iron dutch oven and a skillet....beef stew in the dutch oven and biscuits or bread in the skillet....last few pics. And when not cooking, it can be used for an ice chest, to keep other camp gear off the ground, etc,
Bake foil-wrapped potatoes and corn directly on the charcoal….use it as a tabletop for prep work in the backyard....also has hooks to hang tools, pans, etc. Camp Chef makes a shelf for each side that adds an extra 29 inches….a total 67 inches of work surface….almost 6 feet.
The cast iron dutch oven and skillet in the pics are included. The dutch oven is 10” and brand new with 3 legs, a bale handle, and a recessed lid to hold live charcoal. The 10” cast iron skillet has 2 lips…great for baking bread and biscuits.

It has tips on the how-to of dutch oven cooking with 180 pages of great recipes….everything from baked fish with salsa topping and dutch oven pizza….to banana nut bread and sausage-cheese biscuits.
