Designed by Diane Effner and manufactured by Edwin M. Knowles China Company for Ashton-Drake (1988) in the "Heroines From the Fairy Tale Forest of the Brothers Grimm" collection, this vintage fine porcelain Little Red Riding Hood doll is still brand new, wrapped in her sealed original packaging and box, and comes dressed in her original clothing which includes a white floral dress trimmed in lace with laced bodice, pouffed sleeves, and attached apron. Underneath she has white pantaloons trimmed in lace, black stockings, black Mary Jane shoes, and red hooded cape. In her hand she carries her original wicker basket with loaf of bread and lidded jar. She is 14" tall with a porcelain head, arms, and legs on an armatured cloth body for posing. She has blue inset blue glass eyes, nice facial coloring, and reddish-brown hair in adorable ringlets.
Accompanying Little Red Riding Hood is her stand and certificate of authenticity. According to her certificate, this Little Red Riding Hood is one of the first dolls issued in this limited series from the 80's (#1779H).
