Now is the time to do all of the woodworking so you are ready to pour when it gets warmer.
Hey woodworkers, looking to expand your horizons? What we have here is a 70+ year old live edge slab of Alligator Juniper.(no splits or cracks) It measures 4” thick, 27 ½” at widest part x 96”. I established the age by trying to count the growth rings but they are so close together that this is an estimate. (see photo). This has been stored in my garage for the past 7 years and the guy I bought it from had it stored in a barn. The base is solid 2x6 screwed together with 5” heavy duty casters.
My original goal was to make a 44”(+,-) wide by 84”(+,-) long and about 3” thick. river table so I built this jig and sled. As you can see in the photos, I actually stared the milling process. The sled works OK but if I were to continue I would make a better one.
I no longer have the desire or money to complete this project. So my loss is your gain. It is very heavy so a 8 foot flatbed trailer with tie downs is recommended. I can help load.
