Bristol FX is a residential and commercial foundation repair company serving Southern California and Arizona. Our website — www.bristolfx.com — is built on WordPress and is our primary online presence for generating leads. The site is functional but has accumulated dozens of issues that need professional attention. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented WordPress technician to work through a specific list of repairs and improvements on a task-by-task basis.
What We're Looking For
We need an experienced WordPress contractor who can take direction well and execute specific tasks that we assign. This is not a redesign project — this is a maintenance and optimization engagement. You will be given a clear list of issues and tasks, and we expect each one to be completed as specified.
The overall goals are:
- Fix existing technical and design issues across the site
- Improve site performance, speed, and mobile responsiveness
- Optimize the site for search engines (SEO) to increase organic traffic
- Ensure videos and media are properly indexed by Google
- Improve user experience to increase lead generation and conversions
- Set up proper analytics and tracking
Types of Tasks You May Be Asked to Perform
**Technical Repairs & Maintenance**
- Fix broken links, missing images, and formatting errors
- Resolve plugin conflicts or outdated plugin issues
- Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins safely
- Fix mobile responsiveness issues (layout, text sizing, tap targets)
- Improve page load speed (image compression, caching, code optimization)
- Fix or configure contact forms to ensure leads are captured properly
- Resolve any security vulnerabilities or warnings
- Fix SSL/HTTPS mixed content issues if present
- Clean up unused themes, plugins, and media files
SEO & Indexing
- Install and configure an SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math, or similar)
- Set up and submit XML sitemaps (including video sitemaps) to Google Search Console
- Add proper meta titles, descriptions, and Open Graph tags to all pages
- Add structured data / schema markup (LocalBusiness, VideoObject, etc.)
- Optimize heading structure (H1, H2, H3) across all pages
- Set up or verify Google Search Console and Google Business Profile integration
- Fix any crawl errors or indexing issues reported in Search Console
- Ensure all videos are embedded properly and eligible for Google video indexing
- Implement internal linking strategy across service pages and blog posts
Content & Media
- Upload videos to YouTube and replace self-hosted MP4 files with YouTube embeds
- Create dedicated video watch pages for each video with proper titles, descriptions, and schema
- Optimize all images (compression, alt tags, proper file naming)
- Format and clean up existing page content for readability and SEO
Analytics & Tracking
- Set up or verify Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Set up conversion tracking for contact form submissions and phone calls
- Provide a brief overview of current traffic and performance as a baseline
Requirements
- **Proven experience** with WordPress maintenance and troubleshooting (please provide examples or references)
- **Working knowledge of SEO** — not just plugin setup, but understanding of on-page optimization, schema markup, and Google Search Console
- Strong understanding of **site speed optimization** and Core Web Vitals
- Experience with **video SEO** and structured data is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and explain what you did and why in plain English — we are not developers and need to understand your work
- Must be comfortable working from a **task list** and checking in with progress updates
- Must be willing to work on **our schedule and priorities**, not upsell us on services we haven't requested
- Reliable, responsive communication — if we message you, we expect a reply within the same business day
What We Will Provide
- Full admin access to the WordPress dashboard
- A detailed, prioritized task list of specific issues and repairs
- Access to Google Search Console, Analytics, and any other accounts as needed
- Clear communication and prompt feedback
- Fair and timely payment for completed work
