Good morning!
It has come to my attention that Maverik / Kum & Go companies have indiscriminately allowed some customers to be sent to a "collection agency" called https://www.trsrecoveryservices.com/ for a very minor infraction permitting this company to possibly negatively affect their own customer's credit report without informing any customers who sign up for the Nitro card of any of this.
I was introduced to their Nitro card with promises of benefits which include $.10 discount on gas, $1 dollar coffee daily, among other special discounts. This card is required to be linked to a bank account, which I did.
I purchased a cup of coffee for $1.09 earlier this month, my paycheck was delayed by two (2) days, the charge was rejected and Maverik / Kum & Go and their "collection agency" decided to charge me a $25 state fee, all within fifteen (15) days of the orginal $1.09 being rejected. This even after Maverik / Kum & Go got their money I am still dealing with the collection agency which will likely impact my credit.
I reached out to Maverik, left a message for Natalie Stevenson, she hasn't called me back.
I am posting this for others who may have experienced something similar. If you have a Nitro card and have had a charged rejected by your bank, and this was out of your control, please let me know.
