Antique Peter Pan miniature gramophone. This vintage 1920's portable phonograph which was made in England was the iPod of its day. My great uncle bought this in the late 1960s from an Antique dealer. His curiosity was peaked at a time when the internet didn't exist so in 1971 he wrote the patent office in England. He lived in California and they sent a reply to him a few weeks later. I have this original letter/envelope that was sent to him as well as a summary of the events my aunt wrote.
Phonograph measures 7" long by 6" wide by 4.5" deep and weighs 5lb 12oz.
This gramophone has survived in great shape, it's been in our family close to 60 years now and was always cherished. It is in good working condition and will play records, but I do not have any. I was able to borrow an antique record from a collector who I brought it to and he played it for me, it sounded fabulous. While I cannot play a record for you, since I lack them , I can set it up and show you the full operational workings of it. All the leather has stayed in great shape with exception to the carrying handle on top, it is present but has torn in half and is fragile, a new one could be fashioned since these are not sewn on. I am asking a fair price for one in this nice of condition, missing no components and with the history/letters attached to it. That said I am open to reasonable (key word) offers- Thank You
