SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF PRESCOTT VALLEY, INC. is looking for a young woman who is 14 to 17 as of December 1, 2009 who may be eligible for our Violet Richardson Award. 'To be eligible for this award the applicant must be engaged in volunteer activity and she can not apply for this award to more than ONE SOROPTIMIST club for this award.
A Violet Richardson Award Honoree should be:
* A young woman who is caring, compassionate, creative and most of all committed to making the world a better place.
* A young woman who has demonstrated initiative in both identifying a problem and in trying to solve it.
* A young woman who has had significant and noteworthy accomplishments as a volunteer.
The applicants will be judged at the local club level with the winner getting a monetary award. The organization where she does most of her volunteer work will also receive a monetary award. The local club winners application will then be sent to our District for judging again. The District winner will then be forwarded to our Region for judging. The Region includes part of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Our clubs winners have placed in the top 5 at the Region level for the past 2 years.
